CRDF Global Ukraine Strengthens Collaboration with University of Salento
During the “Development of University Programs in Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience” workshop held in Lecce, Italy, from March 11-14, 2024, CRDF Global Ukraine reaffirmed its commitment to collaboration by formalizing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Salento. This MOU underscores a shared commitment to advancing research, science, cybersecurity, and critical infrastructure protection cooperation between the two institutions.
In a parallel initiative, the University of Salento also entered into an MOU with the National Aviation University of Ukraine, aimed at fostering collaboration in similar domains.
The CISR workshop provided a valuable platform for participants to glean insights and best practices in chemical Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience (CISR) educational programs. Moreover, experts from Europe and the United States presented a “Feasibility Study on the Implementation of a Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience Education and Training System in Ukraine.”
Additionally, three prominent Ukrainian educational institutions, namely the Educational Center for Physical Protection, Accounting, and Control of Nuclear Materials named after J. Kuzmych of the Institute of Nuclear Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the National Technical University of Ukraine “Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute,” and the National University of Civil Defense of Ukraine, expressed their intention to sign MOUs with the University of Salento. These agreements aim to further broaden cooperation in CISR and Chemical Security areas among the participating institutions.
The signing of these MOUs represents a significant stride towards fortifying collaboration and advancing research and education in critical infrastructure security and resilience between Ukraine and international partners.
