CRDF Global Delivers Regional Cybersecurity Workshop to Bolster Cyber Resilience across Eastern Europe and Western Balkans

On June 24-25, 2025, CRDF Global, on behalf of Global Affairs Canada and in partnership with Toddington International Inc., successfully conducted a regional cybersecurity workshop in Krakow, Poland with a specific focus on countering threats from non-state actors and cybercriminal groups.
The event marked the first regional cybersecurity capacity-building engagement for IT and cybersecurity professionals involved in protecting critical infrastructure and services under the new “Capacity Building for Cybersecurity in Ukraine” project. The workshop’s core aim was to foster collaboration, enhance threat intelligence analysis capabilities, and build robust cyber resilience networks across Eastern Europe and the Western Balkans.
Over the two days, the event convened ten highly skilled cybersecurity professionals from Albania, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, and Romania, representing both public and private sectors. In light of increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks targeting the region’s IT infrastructure, the workshop was designed to promote collaboration and information sharing, thereby strengthening collective defense. The curriculum focused on deepening participants’ knowledge of the tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) of relevant non-state actors, alongside enhancing their threat intelligence and cybercrime investigation skills through tabletop exercises to develop effective detection and mitigation strategies. This blend of theoretical depth and hands-on learning aimed to enhance participant’s cybersecurity capabilities and foster valuable new connections among representatives of public and private entities in the region.
Mr. Mykhailo Verych, Regional Director of CRDF Global in Ukraine, expressed sincere appreciation for the Government of Canada’s crucial support for bolstering the broader cybersecurity resilience of a region facing increasingly sophisticated cyber threats, particularly within the framework of the newly launched project.
